Contingent Commander's Profile

NDP Trainer’s Profile – PCO Lee Shi Yuan

This is my very first time participating in NDP, so I’m as inexperienced as most of you here. In the past, I wasn’t prepared to join NDP because of fear and commitment issues. I believe many of you would feel the same way as me too – fear for what lies ahead and uncertain if you will be able to complete this journey – but this year, I decided to put away all my concerns and focus on the two reasons why I want to join NDP: my passion for Footdrill and my love for the country. Whatever reason you have for joining NDP, even if it’s just for the food, keep that in mind and let it be your motivation. But of course, I would hope that you would be driven by a greater cause which is to work hard for your squad mates. They will be the ones rooting for you when you feel tired; they will be the ones cheering you up when you are down; and they are the ones you will celebrate with when you finish the journey. I know that this decision is not going to be easy because of the trainings and the long hours spent standing, regardless of rain or shine, but fret not! We will be there for you and walk you through! So let’s stay positive and united, and make your family, Red Cross and the country proud, shall we? J
