Lyrics:
Step by step with confident stride
Side by side with joy and pride
Never fear to do what's right
Do our best with all our might
Tis the land that we have grown
Singapore is ours to own
Wherever we may roam
Tis the place that we call our home
We are One in Unity
Celebrate Diversity
Overcome Adversity
Marching on to Victory

Heeding to our Nation's call
Everyone step to the fore
Singapore will never fall
Strong and Free forever more
With our family and our friends
Pledge our lives to this land
We will work hand in hand
To defend our homeland
We are One in Unity
Celebrate Diversity
Overcome Adversity
Marching on to Victory
Marching on to Victory~

Cancellation of Training for 22nd June 2013

Hey everyone,
I guess you know what's going on out there, right?

So, in light of the current situation, training has been cancelled for this Saturday. Do not go to HQ, or you'll be alone. Training has been cancelled for all row B and row C participants.

I'm sure some of us might feel a little down over this, so to lighten things up, some pictures from the previous NDP trainings will be uploaded to the Facebook group soon! You might find a new profile picture there, waiting for you!

There might also be an instructional video for all the new commands and drills, so you can revise while you're comfortably resting at home as well. Do look out for it! Alright, stay home, rest well, don't fall sick! We still need you around, so take care!

On a more serious note, the trainers would like to ask for your assistance by filling up the Nominal Roll (name and details list) at the following link.

This is especially important because of safety and communication reasons, and done so that we can account for your presence every Saturday. Please remember to fill it up by this Friday, 17 May, 2000hrs, so we can collate up the lists and confirm your participation.

In the meantime, happy studying! Also, those that don't have Facebook, We would highly suggest you go make an account. Even though all messages will be sent here as well, there will be a few discussions going on in the Facebook page in future. The link to the page is right here:

Monday 6 May 2013

Are you ready?

Hello people!

I'm willing to bet that most of you are studying really hard for your mid-years! All the trainers here wish you a successful mid-year exam period! May you all score with flying colours! :D

It's 11 days till the official start of your NDP journey. Are you excited? Because we all are! For the first time, you all are going to be part of a contingent that you'll soon grow to love! Before that, though, here are some tips for you to better prepare yourself before you start training on the 18th.

  1. Revise your drills, especially Sediya, Senang Diri, Ke-Kanan/kiri Pusing, Belok Kiri/Kanan, Berhenti and Hentak. These drills will most commonly be used during the parade, so make sure you can execute them without a hitch. Beware of common mistakes like not raising up the leg to 90 degrees, horsekicking, and the like. Though it's still the exam period, you still have to be familiar with your drills the moment you report for training next Saturday.
  2. Prepare your uniform early. The trainers are going to inspect every nook and cranny on your uniform on every Saturday to ensure that it's in tip-top condition. That means to say, please refer to the uniform guidelines above to better help you know the standards that we are aiming to achieve. Remember, your uniform is your pride, so we expect to see the best from you during every training session. Request for any missing uniform accessories ASAP, and get all of them by the time NDP starts.
  3. Drink lots of water and rest well! Your Saturdays are going to be jam-packed with drills and a lot of fun activities during NDP, but you can't get through them if you're falling sick all the time. Make sure you really hydrate yourself as much as possible before, during and after trainings (We don't want you to collapse on that day! ._.), and sleep early before every training session. That'll help a lot.
  4. Remember to remind your YOs, units and teachers that you will be down for NDP training every Saturday from 18 May, and take note that NDP takes precedence over all school and RCY-level activities.
Here's wishing everyone good luck for exams! We'll meet again on the 18th, don't forget!

Friday 5 April 2013

Welcome to the contingent!

Hello people!
If you're reading this, then congratulations on being accepted into the contingent for this year's parade! You all worked hard throughout the past two selection training sessions, and you've proven yourselves to be capable of marching and doing Red Cross proud at the floating platform. Kudos to you! \o/

Now, you might want to look at last year's parade in order to get a glimpse of what you'll be doing together as a contingent, and as a nation, this year. Sure, some things are going to be different, but it won't harm to take a look! Go and watch the reality series "We will get there" on this channel right here to get a closer look at the adventures last year had for the contingent:

http://www.youtube.com/user/NDPeeps?feature=watch

Lastly, we'll be on hiatus till the 18th of May, which means that all of us are going to study really hard for our upcoming tests! Remember to come back to the blog regularly, as we'll be posting a couple of things, such as trainer profiles, additional videos, inspiring notes from our trainers, uniform guidelines and quite a lot of footdrill tips up here!

We wish you all the best for your exams, and we look forward to seeing all of you again on the 18th of May, when we'll conquer Nee Soon Camp! (Cadets, please note that uniform guidelines have been posted. Please refer to it for uniform preparation in future.)

Sebastian Tan
